A month ago (can't believe it was that long ago already!), my cousin got married and since she was the first of our cousins to tie the knot, we wanted to do everything in the good old way...
It started with a day at the Hammam where all the girls took the time to relax, gossip, and have fun! I love going to the Hammam, I feel uniquely clean afterwards and very peaceful as well...
The next day (pictures of this post), the afternoon started with girls only. Everyone was dancing and having a blast and a lady was there to draw Henne tatoos on our hands (that day is the Henne ceremony).
Later in the evening, men started coming and made the party even more fun! Then, VERY late in the night, we all had dinner together and after all the guests were gone, the closest members of the family (which still makes a lot of them) stayed for some sort of "after party"...
The dresscode was traditionnal as well. All women wore caftans (so colorful!!) but I decided I would stand out a bit and then wore a more "modern" outfit. Only after I actually put it on did I realize it was still 'moroccan themed' since my pants had the nice details of traditionnal Moroccan garments: the buttons in the bottom, which in Morocco are called "aak'ad" (literally means knots) and that you can see on every caftan.
The top was actually a dress, which was a bit annoying to manage during the party since it constantly came out of the pants and then looked a bit too slouchy...
