[Nail DIY] Mondrian on my nails

I guess you guys all know Mondrian, don't you? And the Yves Saint Laurent (or should I start saying Saint Laurent?) dresses with the famous Mondrian paintings on them.

Well today I thought I'd try to make a Mondrian nail design. And I quite like how it turned out.

It's super easy so if you want to do it, here is what you will need:

*Black, yellow, red and blue nailpolish

*A clear topcoat

*A bobby pin (or nail art brushes if you have them)

*Cotton buds and nailpolish remover to rectify any mistake

Start by painting your nails white.

Then, using your bobby pin, dip it into black polish and randomly draw vertical and horizontal lines on your nail.

It's okay if you have polish on your skin, you can remove that later.

Using your bobby pin again, dip into the different colors and fill in random squares. On this nail I used red yellow and blue but you can also fill some squares with black polish just like Mondrian did on his paintings.

Finish off with a clear top coat and Voilà! You now have Mondrian paintings on your nails!

DIY: Ombre nails

Hi guys! I know I've been a little bit missing in action these days and I'm sorry about that but a recent loss in my family made me take a few days off the computer.

Now I feel ready to resume blogging and before I share with you my next outfit post, i just wanted to show you a nice nail design that I've been liking to do lately.

You need:

-colors of your choice
-clear topcoat
-sponge
-piece of plastic (or paper)
-cotton buds
-nail polish remover

put a drop of black naipolish on a piece of plastic or paper

use a sponde to dab the black nailpolish at the root of the nail

use coton swab to remove the nailpolish on your skin

Voila! You can also do it with different color combinations and why not add more colors to the design? I can picture this look in a gradient of deep blues or reds or any other colors that you have in different shades... Get creative!

Nonetheless, i have made a few mistakes while doing this :

-first off, for this particular color combination, I should never have done it on short nails cause it made them look even shorter…

-second thing, and this applies to any color combination, I should have mixed the two colors I chose to create a third one that would work as a bridge color between the two first and make the ombre effect smoother...
